CARBON DYNAMIC AIRBOX -
SPECIAL VERSION
THE CDA SP-05 - CARBON DYNAMIC AIRBOX - MUST BE INSTALLED
EXCLUSIVELY ON CARS THAT HAVE ALREADY AN ORIGINAL FITTED AIR
SENSOR BOSCH >PBT-GF30< (Ø 70mm). THANKS TO A SPECIFY
ADAPTOR, THIS SPECIAL APPLICATION CONSENTS A DIRECT
INSTALLMENT OF THE CDA TO THE AIR SENSOR, GUARANTEEING AN
EASY CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TWO COMPONENTS, REDUCING A GREAT
DEAL OF WASTED SPACE AND CONVEYING MORE AIR TO THE ENGINE.
1 : REMOVE THE ORIGINAL AIRBOX.
2 : APPLY THE GASKET TO THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE FLANGE.
Remove the yellow paper from the gasket and apply the
adhesive side in its place on the engine side of the flange.
3 : POSITIONING THE CDA. Once the original air box has been
removed, position the CDA in the area obtained using the
clamp (large mod.) provided with the kit. Use the support
hanger to block the device onto a stable point of the engine
space, shaping this completion according to the position
located for the fixing.
4 : INSERTING THE AIR SENSOR TO THE ENGINE SIDE FLANGE.
Orientate the CDA checking that the hole of the flange and
the air sensor coincide. Subsequently fix the two components
using the two threaded screws of the original air box.
Please Note: In some cars it might be easier to effect the
connection between the two bodies, so you have to remove the
air flow sensor. In this case it is necessary to make sure
the key is not inserted in the ignition other wise the
central could lose data readings in its memory.
5 : APPLICATION OF THE INTAKE AIR TUBE. After positioning
the CDA in the engine space apply the aluminum air tube that
is supplied to the flange air side of the CDA, subsequently
fixing with the clamp supplied (small model) then orientate
the grip and position it in the area that consents
withdrawal of outside air: pay attention not to orientate
the opening in a low area of the car to avoid water
eventually entering in.
IMPORTANT: The case in which the original air box filter is
connected with the air hole tube of the VALVE PEARBURG, with
the application of the CDA this tube should be connected to
the plug situated in the motor side flange. SINCE THE HOLE
OF THE PLUG IS CLOSED IT IS NECESSARY TO DRILL A HOLE WITH A
3MM DRILL BIT.
WARNING: This product is made for track usage only and is
not intended by the manufacturer for use on public streets
or highway.
To be fitted by trained mechanical personnel only.

DIA
70-130 |
The Junior Kit by BMC
The operation philosophy of BMC top range product, the
Carbon Dynamic Airbox (CDA), is utilized in the DIA using
less exotic material and therefore being more economical.
This has enabled the production of a system that still gives
more performance than a normal shielded cone filter but is
available at a very interesting price.
The DIA consists of a plastic airbox containing an air flow
deflector and a reusable filter element. Also supplied in
the universal kit there is a flexible tube to carry cool air
to the Airbox inlet, a connecting tube for easier
installation and two reducers that allow the in most common
applications (70mm, 65mm, 60mm).
The DIA is recommended for engines having a displacement up
to 1.6000 cc .
